These are the primary techniques practitioners at North Seattle Bodywork draw from. A session may include any of them, depending on what your body needs in that moment.

Myofascial Release (MFR)

Fascia is the connective web that wraps every muscle, organ, and fiber in your body — think of the white pith in an orange, running through the whole fruit and around every segment. MFR works with this web directly, releasing tight spots to bring the body back into balance.

Craniosacral Therapy (CST)

A gentle technique that calms the nervous system and helps the body settle into alignment. Great for migraines, headaches, and deep rest.

Intraoral Massage

Gentle work inside the mouth (gloved finger) to release jaw and facial muscles that can’t be reached any other way. Helpful for TMJ pain, clicking, and limited opening, teeth grinding/clenching, headaches, and neck tension.

Visceral Manipulation

Your organs shift and glide with every breath and movement. Surgery, scarring, or poor posture can cause that movement to get stuck. This technique restores healthy glide and releases the tension that builds up around it.

Sports Massage

We assess your posture and movement patterns, then treat the specific areas of tension and imbalance we find — restoring alignment and freeing up movement.

Neuromuscular Release

Chronic tension is often a muscle stuck “on,” not a weak or damaged one. Instead of forcing it to stretch, we use gentle resistance-and-release techniques that work with your nervous system — helping the muscle actually let go, for longer-lasting relief.

Cupping

Suction gently lifts tissue instead of pressing into it, separating layers that have stuck together and releasing tension.
